			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There was a time a couple of years ago when I was a major fitness freak – I would wake up at the insane hour of 4.45, be at the gym by 5.30, and work out for an hour or so. Then later on in the evening, after putting in at least 6 hours of work, I would be on the racquetball court, raring to have a go at as many games as I could. And unless I was out of town or on vacation, this was my iron-clad routine every single day of the week.</p>
<p>I thought I was being diligent and dedicated to my fitness goals, but it took just a few short months to show me that I was being a fool by not providing my body with adequate rest. It was only after my body started aching and I began suffering one injury after the other that I slowed down and realized the mistakes I was making, the biggest of them being that I was not allowing my body enough time to rest. Rest is important when you want to become fit because:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>It helps rejuvenate and relax your muscles and joints</strong>: If you work out with weights or strength-train to build and tone your muscles, it’s important to take a day off to allow your muscle tissue to heal from the damage and miniscule tears it suffers. Repetitive cardio exercises cause strain and stress on your joints, and if you don’t take adequate rest, you could end up with a serious and chronic injury. Rest helps rejuvenate your aching and damaged muscles and joints.</li>
<li><strong>It keeps exercise fresh and appealing</strong>: When you allow yourself a day or two of rest every week, you look forward to getting back to your workout the following day. If it’s going to be exercise day in and day out, day after day, there will come a time when you’re going to be disillusioned with your workout. You hit a plateau, both in terms of weight loss and enthusiasm, and are in danger of giving up altogether. So keep your workout routine fresh and appealing by providing your body and mind with adequate rest.</li>
<li><strong>It prevents injuries and accidents</strong>: Unless your muscles, joints and limbs get enough rest, you’re bound to slip up, suffer accidents, and cause injury to yourself. You must listen to the warning signs your body is sending out and act accordingly. If you fail to exercise caution when you exercise and push on in spite of all the pains and aches, you’re going to suffer a serious and potentially debilitating injury.</li>
</ul>
<p>When you take the road to fitness, you must remember to make the right stops too so that you’re not too tired and drained to go any further. In general, it’s best to take two days off exercise every week, not necessarily together. Also, you must sleep soundly every night for at least 7 hours if you want to remain in peak condition. And finally, supplement your workout with the right diet – lean proteins, good carbohydrates, wholegrain, nuts, and fruits and vegetables.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Americans are the worst victims of high cholesterol. The reason being their unhealthy diet, lifestyle and habits. It is very important for an average American to make serious changes in all the three fields mentioned above. Most of the Americans follow an inactive lifestyle. There is not enough exercise to keep the body healthy and fit. Unhealthy eating habits also accelerate the problem further. Most of the health issues which are countries are facing is a mixed effect of unhealthy habits and sedentary lifestyles. It is high time we take notice of this and make radical changes.</p>
<p>Some tips which we need to follow to keep the cholesterol levels low are as follows:</p>
<ol>
<li>Cut down on red meat. In case you are a compulsory meat eater, then ensure that fat from the meat is completed removed before cooking it. You could substitute ground turkey or some turkey bacon to lend that aroma. Do not eat more than 4 oz portion.</li>
<li>Make sure you eat more of Omega 3 Fatty foods. Fish is very good for the body. Salmon fish can be substituted for red meat.</li>
<li>Refrain from eating polished noodles, rice and potatoes. Include lot of whole-wheat grains or wheat wheat noodles. In case you have a temptation to eat potatoes, then you could eat a small potato about your fist size, some rice (about half a cup).</li>
<li>Include whole wheat bread in each meal. But make sure you do not exceed the quantity. In case the diet menu states that you can eat sandwiches, make sure to top it with very less mayonnaise on the sandwiches. You could spice it up with some ketchup or some mustard ketchup.</li>
<li>Make sure you vacate your dining chair even before your tummy is full. Obese people are susceptible to heart diseases and sugar related problems as compared to slim and active people. People who follow a sedentary lifestyle have greater chances of heart problems.</li>
<li>You need to exercise for about half an hour thrice a week. You could also opt for other exercise regimes like walking, cardio exercises in the gym, aerobics and jogging too. Walking is a complete exercise since it tones up your entire body.</li>
<li>Cut down on sweets and sweetened foods. They do not have any energy value. They can have negative effects on the body like excessive weight, high blood pressure, sugar related problems etc.</li>
<li>Consult your family physician and go in for your cholesterol and blood sugar tests at least once in 6 months.</li>
<li>Some health problems like heart ailments and diabetes are hereditary. In case your family has these problems, there are chances that you could also attract these problems. In case you are well read about these in the beginning, then it would be easier for your to be more strict as far as your diet and exercise are concerned.</li>
<li>Intake of supplements like red yeast rice, Fish oil help in reducing cholesterol levels. CO-Q-10 is a soy supplement. Fish oil supplements are very good for the health since they contain Omega III supplements and they are very effective for the health.</li>
