Homeopathy is a system of medicines whose fundamental principal is the Law of similars- that is like is cured by like. It is a practice of medicine devised by German physician Samuel Hahnemann in the early 19th century with the principles of (1) like cures like; (2) drug activity is enhanced by dilution. Thus a drug, which in large doses would induce particular symptoms in a healthy individual, is used after a series of dilutions to treat a sick individual suffering similar symptoms. There is no scientific evidence that the theory of homeopathy is correct. It can only be prescribed individually by studying the person on the basis of their illness.
The word homeopathy can be divided into two Greek words which are homoios and pathos. ‘Homoios’ means ’similar’ and ‘pathos’ means ’suffering’. Homeopathic tablets are effective in many functional and pathological disorders.
