The food that we eat is collected by colon. After the distribution of nutrients, fecal matter, which is a waste, is discharged. Bacteria in the fecal matter exhibits gas during its growth. Only clean colon which does not allow gas makes life easy. Continuous spread and multiplication of bacteria breeds toxins in the body. The excretion of feces is from 100 to 200 g. The fecal excretion contains very small amounts of food residues including indigestible fiber, large amount of microflora, bile pigments, wastes of desquamated cells, cholesterol.

There is also a presence of unabsorbed minerals like iron and calcium. Escherichia coli are predominant bacteria. High carbohydrate intake favors fermentative bacteria. High protein intake helps putrefactive bacteria. Bacterial action releases gases like ammonia, carbon dioxide, methane and hydrogen. It also releases acetic and lactic acids and certain toxic substances like phenol and indole. Microbial synthesis of Vitamin K is a major vitamin source. This necessitates colon cleansing.

The toxins cause sickness such as functional bowel syndrome or spastic colon. This also affects the organs connected to colon through the nervous system. Colon plays important role in the nervous system next only to central nervous system. Only regular bowel movement can clean the colon perfectly. Hence there is an importance of colon cleansers.

Clinicians and physicians reiterate the importance of large amount of fiber in the daily diet and also prescribe Bowtrol colon cleanser as an aide and assistant to a healthy body and peaceful life.
